Zinc & Copper

Zinc & Copper is a Berlin-based low brass trio, specialising in Just Intonation and contemporary repertoire. The ensemble was founded by microtonal tubist Robin Hayward in 2005, the other longterm members being trombonist Hilary Jeffery and French horn player Elena Kakaliagou.
Zinc & Copper has performed in major festivals and venues like Maerz Musik, Rewire, Sound of Stockholm,Venice Biennale and many others. Composers such as Eliane Radigue, Ellen Arkbro, Simon Martin, Phill Niblock, Keith Tippett have composed for and with the trio. Zinc & Copper have published three records to date: “For Organ and Brass” by Ellen Arkbro, “Words of Paradise” by Robin Hayward and the “Discrepancies with F.H. (1#2#3#4#5#6)” in collaboration with the artist Leonor Antunes.
